Questions about Oregon County criminal records belong with the office that created or keeps the file. This private reference site cannot retrieve records or accept filings. The contacts below route court documents to the Circuit Clerk, sheriff reports and booking material to the Oregon County Sheriff's records custodian, and statewide criminal-history checks to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

Need an Official Record?

Use these Oregon County and Missouri contacts for the most common official record needs:

  • Court cases and certified judgments: Oregon County Circuit Clerk, 1 Court Square, P.O. Box 406, Alton, MO 65606, 417-778-7460
  • Sheriff reports and jail records: Oregon County Sheriff, 1 Court Square, P.O. Box 265, Alton, MO 65606, 417-778-6611, weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • State criminal-history checks: Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Justice Information Services Division through MACHS
  • City police reports: the police department that created the report
  • Expungement petitions: the Missouri court where the charge was filed or the finding of guilt occurred
  • Filed-case search: review Oregon County criminal court case records and then request the needed document from the clerk

The sheriff does not publish a separate Records Division. Office Manager Stephen Cook is the named records custodian. The 24-hour non-emergency and jail line is 417-778-6611; the business counter keeps the weekday hours listed above.
